Tuesday, January 19 will be the Tour of Philly led by No Casino in the Heart of Our City Coalition member group, the Media Moblizing Project (www.mediamobilizingproject.org). The tour will start at the Media Mobilizing Project office (4205 Chestnut St) at 9:30am, finish the tour around 4pm and then come back to the office for some conversations about what is the Media Mobilizing Project, the Philadelphia Student Union and the United Taxi Workers Alliance from 5-8pm. The tour will stop that day at the No Slots Spot at 12:40 and Lily Cavanagh and Helen Gym are presenting on the organzing work that has been done over the years to keep predatory gambling out of Philadelphia.

The Poverty Initiative (http://povertyinitiative.org/) - whose mission is to "rise up generations of religious and community leaders committed to building a movement to end poverty, led by the poor" - is hosting one of its regular Immersion trips with community leaders and students from Union Theological Seminar. The trip is stopping in Philadelphia and there are events happening throughout the week. On Monday, January 18th (Martin Luther King Day) @ 3pm, The Philadelphia Student Union, with community organizations, religious groups, and students will be hosting a Call to Witness and Action. It starts at the School District Building (440 North Broad), and with speakers at Arch Street Church starting about 4pm.
