ACTION ALERT: Stop foreclosures in Philadelphia

Thank you for calling your State Senator last week and urging them to oppose Senate Bill 1033 — a pernicious piece of legislation that would allow casinos to extend easy credit to anyone playing a slot machine.

It is now time to escalate our actions. Join us and the No Casino in the Heart of Our City Coalition at 1:30 pm tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 12) for an action outside of State Senator Shirley Kitchen's district office:

You were great in calling your senators last week to voice your concerns, and they have yet to publicly renounce slots on credit. Now they will hear from us first hand about how an easy credit line is the rocket fuel for slot machine addicts, the lifeblood of this industry.

With a predatory gambling industry intent on wringing money out of the problem gamblers their products create, this bill would make recession-wracked citizens vulnerable to yet more financial troubles by driving them deeper and deeper into debt.
