TAKE ACTION: Grow community power for 2010
There's just one day left for you to help us build the community power we need to beat the casinos in 2010. Please act now:
- Invite your friends to contribute to a casino-free Philadelphia using our easy email form.
- Join our cause on Facebook and encourage your friends and family on Facebook to do the same.
- Tweet about Casino-Free on Twitter to spread the word.
We've successfully held off casinos for years, but 2010 presents immense challenges and we need to redouble our efforts -- and build our support -- in order to win.
In 2009, SugarHouse broke ground -- and we were there to meet them with groundbreaking visions of a better Philadelphia. The legislature endeavored to swindle even more Pennsylvanians out of their money through predatory gambling trades like video poker and table games -- and we took it directly to Philadelphia senators, demanding they represent their communities. The city planning commission rubber-stamped SugarHouse's plan -- and Chinatown celebrated a huge victory in kicking Foxwoods out of their neighborhood. Politicians continued to back down in the face of huge casino campaign contributions -- while we demonstrated our resolve to take historic direct action and reclaim casinos for our community.
At every step of the way, we've met casinos' lies, manipulations and duplicity with clear, direct action -- and the financial instability they now face is directly linked to the "competitive disadvantage" we present. But we need to grow our movement to continue our success.
As an incentive, we're awarding a full set of Casino-Free Philadelphia wear -- three t-shirts and a button -- to a winner in each of the three areas:
- The person who invites the most new donors by email
- The person who attracts the most donors on Facebook
- A drawing for one person who Tweets about Casino-Free on Twitter -- the more you Tweet, the more entries in the drawing!

Please act now to grow our network by Dec. 31 -- tomorrow evening!
Take a moment and tell your friends and family why they should join you in creating a casino-free new year.
We can't do it without your help.
